I am Tanner Wightman, a licensed general contractor and home inspector serving Kannapolis, Concord, and Cabarrus County, NC. I have worked in the residential home building sector my entire adult life—the last 26 years to be exact. I have been a licensed general contractor in North Carolina for the last 20 years, and have built and managed countless projects throughout the Charlotte Metro Area, ranging from custom homes to bathroom remodels.
I am passionate about this industry and have seen many changes over that time period. Home inspections in Kannapolis and Concord has always been a huge interest of mine and something that I feel very well suited for as a licensed general contractor turned home inspector. I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to home construction and system application throughout Cabarrus County and the Charlotte Metro Area.
I find this field and line of work fulfilling in so many ways, but most importantly I feel obligated to my Kannapolis and Concord area clients, to inform them of every issue that would be of concern. I feel that everyone about to make an investment as large as a home in Cabarrus County or the Charlotte Metro Area, should be well equipped with all the information about the home and have a safe and secure feeling when moving forward with this life changing purchase.

I grew up in Concord, North Carolina, went to Central Cabarrus High School and received a soccer scholarship to High Point University. I was a student athlete all 4 years in college, and graduated from High Point in 2003 with a BS in Business Administration and Sports Management. My deep roots in Cabarrus County give me intimate knowledge of local construction practices and building standards.
Once I finished college, I came back to Concord and joined my dad's home building business. My dad, brother and I all worked side by side for the next 5 years building many custom homes and large remodels throughout Kannapolis, Concord, and the greater Cabarrus County area.
In 2007, I made the decision to get my general contractor's license. Once I obtained that license, I started a home building and remodel company of my own. Starting a small business was one of the best decisions I ever made—it was rewarding in so many ways.
In 2018, I received my North Carolina home inspection license and founded Wightman Inspection Group, providing professional inspection services for the last 6 years throughout Kannapolis, Concord, Cabarrus County, and the Charlotte Metro Area. I am dedicating all my time and energy to this industry, because I truly believe that I can make a difference when it comes to your life and potential new home in our community.
